Saratoga Miss Softball is announcing a capital campaign to renovate the Saratoga’s softball fields on Geyser Road. The program’s fields on Geyser Road are in use from early April through mid October, hosting a spring season, summer tournaments, and a fall season. The Board of Directors of Saratoga Miss
are looking to partner with the community, businesses and the city to raise money to upgrade the facilities for the city’s residents for the next twenty years. Proposed improvements include batting cages,
pitching machines, permanent dugouts, permanent backstops, scoreboards and outfield fencing. This mix of function and aesthetics is consistent with both the city’s image, and functional features found on the Little League fields throughout the City. There are additional capital purchases, which need to be made to improve field maintenance, the functionality of the food services operation and spectator safety. These improvements would bring the Saratoga Miss facilities on par with other softball programs in and out of the Capital District. The fields are an economic driver for the city, as spring and summer tournaments bring families from outside the area to local restaurants, hotels and shops.
