Saratoga Miss Softball COVID-19 Update

UpdatedSaturday March 21, 2020 byJohn Dowd.

Hello Saratoga Miss Softball Families.

We want to pass along an update on the rapidly developing information regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus and its impact on the recreational softball schedule and season.

Based on information and guidance from USA Softball, the Centers for Disease Control and the City of Saratoga Springs, the start of our season will likely be postponed. We are continuing to monitor the situation and remain hopeful we can get the season started as soon as possible this spring.

Our Board of Directors are working to develop alternative plans keeping the health and safety of our players, families and members of our entire community as our #1 priority.

We have been notified by the City that all fields have been closed to organized activities until further notice.

At this time, we are also postponing the player evaluations scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2020.

All remaining league events leading up to and kicking off the season will be delayed.  This includes the Saratoga Miss Softball Appreciation Weekend scheduled at Dick's Sporting Goods.  This will hopefully be postponed until later this spring.

Our Board is working through different scenarios for organizing teams, schedules, etc. and getting a framework in place so that when we get the clearance to play from the municipal authorities, we are able to get the season underway as quickly as possible.

Registration will remain open for those who have not yet registered.  You can register on our website: www.saratogamiss.org.

We remain optimistic that we will be watching our kids play softball with friends and family this spring. We will continue to send updates as they become available. If you have any questions feel free to email us at jdowd@dblawny.com.

Thanks everyone and please stay safe!
