COVID Update - June 11, 2020

UpdatedThursday June 11, 2020 byJohn Dowd.

Hello everyone:

I just wanted to reach out to all of you to give you the latest on the prospect of a 2020 Saratoga Miss Softball recreational season.  As of right now, the State has not authorized the commencement of youth softball.  Based on conversations with local government officials and despite our pleas otherwise, we have been advised that youth sports like softball fall into Phase 4 of the State's reopening plan.

Additionally, we have been advised by our local government officials that our fields will not be opened up until such time as the State signs off on such a decision.  Thus, we remain in a waiting game.

In light of the foregoing, we have little new news to report since our last COVID update.  If the State allows youth sports like softball to commence and the local government officials open up our fields for use, our organization will make every effort to conduct some type of recreational softball season.  Since some of you have voiced concerns about holding a season during the summer months, we are considering holding a 6-week recreational season during the Fall (starting after Labor Day). Regardless of what decision is made as to when the season will occur, we will be re-opening registration for any additional girls who would like to play.

Alternatively, if you do not feel comfortable allowing your daughter to play or the time frame does not work for you, we will be issuing refunds (minus a nominal administrative fee that our website charges us) or furnishing you with a future credit if you prefer.

Thanks everyone for your patience.
